Overview

Come and join us for a spectacular break on the Gower in West Wales. Have you always yearned to stay in a bell tent with spectacular scenery to wake up to but can’t afford to stay in a tent on your own? Or equally, you don’t want to experience a once in a lifetime adventure on your own? If so, we have the perfect UK holiday for you to enjoy. This trip combines breathtaking views, endless sandy beaches, spectacular walks, mouthwatering cuisine, all whilst sharing the experience with fellow like minded female travellers.

The Gower Peninsular is on our doorstep and we have created an amazing adventure for you to share in the spectacular scenery that we have the pleasure of exploring whenever we can.

The Gower is one of the UK’s best gems. It is home to beaches that are frequently voted as the best in Europe, with Rhosilli bay winning Wales’ Best Beach 2017, UK’s Top 10 Beaches (Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Awards), and has even made it into the running of Top 10 beaches in the world! Rhosilli Bay is referred to as ‘the supermodel of British Beaches’ and has won accolades such as the ‘UK’s Best Picnic Spot’. It’s a haven for wildlife too with many different breeds of bird nesting in the cliffs – so don’t forget your binoculars. This breathtaking beach alone will make your whole trip worth your visit.

The Gower Peninsula was awarded the UKs first ever award of Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area was given the prestigious title back in 1956 and has not changed much since. It received the distinguished award due to its miles of glittering coastline, stunning beaches, sandy bays and fascinating cave formations. Views from high points in the peninsula are truly amazing, which is what makes the area such a great location for memorable holidays in Wales.

Worms Head, which is an attraction on one of our days, is not only a landmark feature and hugely popular Welsh tourist attraction but it’s also a mile-long stretch believed to be one of the most breath-taking and most photographed sunsets across the globe. So much so, it has been voted the 7th best sunset in the world.

The dramatic scenery of Worm’s Head at Rhossili Bay was featured in the Doctor Who episode ‘New Earth’, and the village of Rhossili was also a location for the spin-off series Torchwood.

If the above isn’t enough to convince you, take a look at our carefully curated itinerary below or get in touch with any questions. Further, we have all seen the news and the chaos at our airports, this would be the perfect opportunity to spread your wings and go on holiday, without the fear and stress of flying. Even if you grew up in the area, everyone has to be a tourist in their own country to truly appreciate their roots.

Our Group Tours For Women West Wales Itinerary

Day 1 – Settle into your glamping bell tent followed by evening meal

Our adventure will start with checking in at 4pm into your chosen glamping tents. As we understand that everyone has individual tastes and requirements, we are giving you 3 different glamping options. You can choose between a woodland bell tent, a countryside view bell tent with a hot tub, or a bell tent overlooking the spectacular beach.

The most difficult decision you will have to make is whether you want to book the seaview or woodland view and whether you want to enjoy the luxury of a hot tub (woodland view only). The prices shown would be sharing with 3 other Seek travellers. We understand this can be daunting, but it is the best way to truly jump out of your comfort zone and meet friends for life. If you would prefer extra space and to share with 1 other person, you can pay slightly more.

The bell tents are designed to feel a little like a traditional camping experience with the added luxury of all bedding, towels and electricity. This means that you don’t have to worry about bringing anything! It’s a home from home, with amazing views and warm companionship. There will be none of the added hassle of figuring out how to erect your tent, or trying to take it down! All of the Glamping tents have heaters ready inside. Fire pits are also included for those cooler evenings. The tents consist of a double bed and 2 x single beds.

The Glamping Tents are just a small walk away from the brand new, modern and spacious toilet facilities. These are not your ordinary ablution blocks as they feature en-suite style bathrooms with heated mirrors, touchless shower controls, washbasins and toilets, as well as underfloor heating.

Once we have all arrived we will go on our first walk. This will be about an hour each way, stopping for a cup of hot tea and slice of homemade cake before heading back. After our hot showers, we will gather around the campfire for home made pizzas from the onsite pizza truck. Spend the evening getting to know your Seek travel companions over a cold glass of prosecco or a hot chocolate whilst taking in one of the most iconic sunsets in Wales.

Day 2 – Guided Boat tour to hopefully spot some dolphins

After a good night’s sleep with the peacefulness of the Gower fresh air, we will have a hearty local breakfast. We will walk along the Gower Coastal Path to meet our guided boat tour for a 2 hour boat adventure. Since 2003 they have been providing interactive wildlife spotting tours of the south Gower coast, aiming to leave their passengers with unforgettable memories.
Guided by a professional qualified crew with excellent local knowledge, you will encounter stunning scenery, a wealth of marine wildlife, fascinating local history (from prehistoric bone caves to tales of smugglers) and a unique thrill as we skim across the open water. With nearly 20 years experience of navigating these waters, they know every cave, cove and bay, accompanied by their intriguing stories.
The guides know where the seals will be snoozing, the porpoises feeding, and the sea birds nesting. I know this year many dolphins have been spotted, although I’m sure you can all appreciate, they are not guaranteed.
After our thrill seeking boat tour we will be ready for a hearty fish and chips (or veggie option) at Oxwich Bay. The decision can be made to walk back, depending how energetic you are feeling (about 90 minutes), or catch the local bus (10 minutes).
Our day will be finished off with a BBQ, recounting the magic of the day and getting to know each other better. If you have a guitar, bring it along for a sing song.

Lunch at Rhossili Beach, dinner in a local pub 10 minutes walk away through beautiful garlic fields (season dependent)

After breakfast we will catch local transport to the world famous Rhosilli bay. You can spend the day relaxing on the breathtaking beach or walking to Worms Head with your Seek Leader (or both if you’re feeling up to it).
Weather and season dependant, we will visit the gorgeous sunflower fields to capture the photo all of your friends will be envious of.
Lunch will then be with your fellow seekers overlooking Rhoslilli beach with the most delicious homemade Welsh cakes for dessert. If you are too full, you can bring them back to your tent to enjoy with an afternoon cup of tea.
Once you have spent the afternoon relaxing or perhaps tried a bit of paddle boarding, it is time to head out to a local pub for dinner. A perfect end to a perfect day!

Day 4 – Time to say goodbye

After breakfast and those last photos, plenty of hugs and exchanging numbers and social media, it is time to check out. We can guarantee that although everyone will be arriving as strangers, you will be leaving as friends.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Is my money protected?

Yes, and you will never lose your money. We also offer 1 free date change before 60 days of your departure date.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course, if you book separately, just let us know you want to share a room. Equally, our adventures are designed as solo trips, so the majority of our travelers will not know each other at the beginning, however we know true friendships will be formed by the end.

Who will I share a room with?

You will more than likely be sharing a room with one or more other Seek adventurers as our accommodation is a mixture of twin, triple or multi-share. The beds will be a mixture of single and double beds and in our experience women are normally happy sharing a double bed. This is so that not only can we keep the cost down for you, but also to provide you with the opportunity of building strong friendships with people that you would not usually cross paths with in your everyday life.

I don’t know anyone else on the group travelling and I am a shy person

We all understand that feeling of being out of your comfort zone and meeting new people for the first time, but don’t forget that everyone you meet on the other side will be in the same position as you. We will add all of our travellers for one trip into a Whatsapp group for you to all ask each other questions and get to know each other before setting off. You will most certainly meet friends for life on your trip because you will all have at least one thing in common… You’re stepping outside your comfort zones and getting out there to see the world!

If we still haven’t answered your question, please fill in the question here (contact us form) or speak to us on the chat button now

Where is the adventure?

The glamping tents are located in Three Cliffs bay in Wales but we will be exploring the Gower peninsula.

How fit do I need to be?

There will be guided walks along the coast so you will need to be comfortable walking on sometimes uneven terrain. However, if you do have mobility issues there is a reliable public transport system where we can help you to meet us throughout the day.

Which currency must I bring?

pounds
We recommend taking a Monzo card, or a similar alternative.

What type of accommodation is included ?

Luxury glamping bell tents with the choice of woodland with or without a hot tub and seaview. The seaview tents do not have a hot tub option.
The tents sleep 4 with a double bed and 2 single beds. We have priced the tents with 4 sharing however if you prefer to share with only 1 other, that is possible although slightly more expensive.

I recently had to cancel a 3 day weekend away I had booked on with Shareen due to personal circumstances. Within an hour she had resold the place and I had received my deposit back. I’m looking forward to joining on one of her trips, excellent communication and customer service
