Why bell tents are the ideal accommodation for glamping in West Wales

Why bell tents are the ideal accommodation for glamping in West Wales

From the glittering coastlines to the picturesque villages, there is a whole adventure waiting for you, just down the road! Ordinarily while booking a holiday, hotels would be the first option. However, we are massive advocates for stepping outside of your comfort zone and believe that staying in a bell tent is the perfect option to truly discover the beauty in the Welsh countryside.

For years, the idea of camping is tarnished with images of muddy fields, communal showers, and the struggle of erecting a tent. Not to mention the turmoil of taking it down. If your family went on camping trips when you were growing up I’m sure you remember the fun and excitement of the holidays. Now, I’m sure that feeling has faded as you are now responsible for all of the extra bits that are needed for a successful camping trip. Even down to carrying the equipment. Now, we are in a new era of camping that involves far less work, and far more luxury. Staying in a bell tent gives you all the romance and fun of proper camping, but with less effort and a lot more comfort.

What exactly is a bell tent?

A bell tent refers to the shape of the tent. Typically, they will have a single, central pole and a traditional canvas exterior. Glamping bell tents tend to have the extra comfort of permanent flooring, proper beds and furniture. They will also have modern bathroom facilities, generally in an eco-friendly style. Everything would have been considered, so come rain or shine you will feel right at home in your fancy camping-style accommodation.

What are the benefits?

You will feel like you are sleeping right in the middle of nature. There will be no busy roads or people stumbling past. You can sleep peacefully in the middle of the countryside. Further, there will be no light pollution so you will be able to relax under the midnight sky, counting your lucky stars until you drift off. You will wake up to the natural sounds of the countryside and the fresh morning air, feeling like you are truly where you belong. Having a cup of coffee on the stoop of your room while overlooking the Welsh coastline is an experience you will not get when staying in a hotel.

Will I get cold at night staying in a bell tent?

One of the most burning questions asked when deciding whether to stay in a bell tent. As a result, this is always considered when the tents are built. They will always have some form of heat source, whether it’s a wood burning stove or another form of heater. However, in the Summer months, a nice big blanket may be just the trick. Or if the recent Summer months are anything to go by, you’ll be just fine with a single sheet and a fan. The majority of bell tents have electricity so you will have absolutely everything you need.
